Know what the dealer's numbers actually mean.
Moneyfactor is an auto-financing calculator for iPhone. Work out lease and loan payments, compare leasing against buying, and find out whether the rate you were quoted has been marked up — before you sign anything.
The number nobody explains
Car leases are quoted using a money factor — a figure like 0.00125 that looks like a typo. Multiply it by 2,400 and you get the interest rate: 3%. Dealers can mark that number up over the rate the lender actually offered you, and because almost nobody converts it, the markup usually goes unnoticed. It is one of the quietest ways a lease gets more expensive.
Moneyfactor does that conversion, and the rest of the arithmetic behind a lease quote, in a few seconds on your phone.
What it does
Lease & loan calculators
Monthly payment, capitalized cost, residual value, taxes, fees, and total drive-off — with a full breakdown showing how each number was reached, not just the total.
Money factor detector
Enter the rate you were quoted and see how it compares to typical buy rates for that brand and term, with a plain-language read on whether it looks marked up.
Lease vs. buy
The same vehicle costed both ways, side by side, so the comparison is about total cost rather than which monthly payment sounds smaller.
Reverse-solve a quote
Given a monthly payment and the deal terms, work backward to the money factor implied by it — useful when a dealer quotes a payment but won't break out the rate.
Lease-end buyout
Coming to the end of a lease? Estimate whether buying the car out is better value than handing it back.
Save deals & export a PDF
Keep scenarios to compare, and export a complete breakdown as a PDF to take into the dealership or to shop a competing offer.
Your numbers stay on your phone
Moneyfactor has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. Every calculation runs on your device, and nothing you type is transmitted anywhere. The App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected — because none is. Read the privacy policy →
Estimates, not promises
Moneyfactor is a calculator, not a lender. Reference rates vary by lender, region, credit tier, and month, so the app labels them as estimates and shows a confidence level and source for each one rather than implying certainty it doesn't have. Always confirm exact terms with your dealer or lender before signing. Full terms →
